Battlefield 2042 update fixes unmitigated, revives and the OP hovercraft
Battleground 2042 has received a new update fixing various bugs, which comes with the promise of more substantial changes next week to correspondence and performance: elaborated here. The clash problems some players have run into should all be fixed now, certain vehicles have been rebalanced, and "situations where you could not be revived surgery respawn as intended" should no thirster happen. Apparently some bots also refused to revive players, which feels a little Terminator, but volition now behave as intended.
The fixes include a reduction on bullet spread from all weapons except Shotguns, and a nerf to the PP-29 which was apparently overperforming outside of its well-meant combat ambit. The no-revive situations were ostensibly happening when players were killed close to obstacles such as walls or water, and there was also a bug where players could get stuck in a downed state and be unable to respawn: some are fixed, and Cube has also added a 30 second timer to the 'downed' condition that will force a respawn if required.
A some vehicle weapons have been nerfed: the MD540 Nighthawk Mounted 20mm Cannons had massive sprinkle hurt and radial impact, but no. Similarly the KA-520 First-rate Hokum 30mm Cannon has had its damage, range, and splash damage reduced, but heater spread augmented. The miniguns on all land vehicles have been reduced in effectualness, piece the LCAA Ground-effect machine has a different armour now which increases its vulnerability to certain weapon types. Regarding the hovercraft DICE writes: "we organized this fomite to behave atomic number 3 an alternative to the LATV4, merely not atomic number 3 an upgrade [...] we have stable the health of this fomite to bring information technology more in-line with its contrive, and made sure that its implements of war is fitly hard-hitting."
There are also a gang of tweaks to Battleground Portal: the UAV-1 has been re-enabled ("IT was overpowered, and we've successful adjustments to account for that"), there's greatly reduced health regeneration delay and speed, magnified missile damage against vehicles and infantry, while "the laggard is now able to roadkill enemies" whatever that means.
There's a granular list of the tweaks here, which include fiddling with specialists and changes to things like how often a smoke grenade bounces. The game's third update is due next calendar week, and promises yet more substantial changes to a game that has had a rocky originate.
